A license is required to practice Kitesurf.
A membership licence to the Fédération Française de Vol Libre (FFVL) is mandatory to practice kitesurf.
Applying for a kitesurfing licence is easy on the website of the French Federation of Free Flight. In a few minutes you will get your licence and you are ready to fly.
It is important that you indicate our school number: 01969
The licence must be paid directly to the FFVL. The price of the licence is not included in the price of the lessons.
The different licences
The licence covers you for civil liability in case of accident.
Medical Certificate
A medical certificate of no contraindication to the practice of kitesurfing is compulsory for any first annual licence subscription.
To renew your licence, you will have to answer a health questionnaire and then check the periodicity table to see if your medical certificate is valid or not.
To check if your medical certificate is valid, a tool of the FFVL is at your disposal:
What does a kitesurfing licence provide?
A kitesurfing licence is first and foremost an insurance policy that includes civil liability. As a kitesurfer, you can cause material or physical damage to third parties. This protection towards others is included in every kitesurfing licence, but you are responsible for taking out this insurance. If you plan to discover this sport at our KGG kitesurf school in Hyères, the cost of your licence is not included in the price of the introductory course. It is your personal insurance (IA) that must cover your own personal injury.
